Come On Get Crafty

Hello everyone! I'm sharing a layout today showcasing the new Crafty Bits Kit in the shop. It is packed with fun products from a variety of manufacturers that you can not only use to embellish your page, but you can create an entire page using mostly items from the kit, like I did here.

I cut pieces of the May Arts twill to different lengths to achieve the look of paper strips and stitched them down on my page.

I embellished the page with the Jillibean Soup corrugated butterfly shapes, Studio Calico wood veneer flowers and circles,and Basic Grey Candy Buttons.

 

I added my journaling to a tag from my stash and adhered one of the Basic Grey Mint Julep Woven Labels as the pull tab.

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I'm sharing my February Project Life pages. While printing my photos for February I realized I didn't have enough square photos to fill two 12x12 pages  so I used one page for square photos, one 8 1/2 x 11 divided page protector with 3 spaces for larger photos and one 5.5 x 8.5 page protector for journaling.

In my album, I placed the 12x12 divided protector on the left, the 8.5 x 11 on the right and the smaller protector with my journaling in between those two pages.

 

The Jillibean Soup Label and Shape stickers are my go-to item for adding captions and shapes to my photos.

For the journaling card, I used one sheet of paper and punched numbers from one of the Jillibean sticker sheets to bullet the highlights of the month.

I hope this has shown you how flexible PL can be. You don't have to fill the same number of pages each month. Work with what you have and keep it stress free.

Here's Diane's layout using the sketch and she said, "The Pink Paislee Cottage Farms Collection is perfect for vintage photos and my Grandma loved butterflies so I knew I wanted to use a photo of her for the layout to coordinate with the beautiful butterflies in this collection."

And here's my take on the sketch...

I really liked the lines of this sketch and stuck very close to it.  The Basic Grey Mint Julep Collection is great for a softer, more feminine feel and I thought it was perfect for this layout about my daughter's first big girl bed.

Hi everyone, Diane here sharing a favorite product today, the Fancy Pants Patterned Paper photo frames. A couple weeks ago, I used one of the frames on my sketch layout and immediately fell in the love with them. While  putting that layout together I knew they would be the perfect for cards.

The Trendsetter Patterned Paper Photo Frames paired with the coordinating patterned paper and stickers made it so quick & easy to put together a couple cards.

For a little extra detail to the frame, I added some Basic Grey Candy Buttons to the center of the stars.

On this next card, I placed the greeting in the bottom right corner and added some twine.

And I love using sketches!  I thought this one was a great design to use for the photos of my daughter walking next to a wheat field by our home.  I used lots of Maggie Holmes products and kept the color palette soft with a few bright pops of pink and blue.

Hello everyone, Diane here! I am so excited to be here sharing my first layout with you. When I started thinking about what I wanted to make for today's post, I wondered what type of scrapbookers you are? Do you scrapbook just the events? Are you a chronological scrapper or do you jump around? Do you prefer to scrapbook individual moments and your thoughts and feelings in general. Is the story the most important part of scrapbooking? Maybe, the joy of creating and playing with new products is your driving factor (GASP)!

I must admit, I’m all of those, except a chronological scrapper. I scrapbook for my family…to document the highlights and to remember the little details of life that we tend to forget if we don’t get them down on paper. I scrapbook because I enjoy the creative process too.

If you scrapbook an event, what do you do with the leftover photos? Do you tuck them away in a box and forget about them or maybe share leftover photos with family members? If I really love the photos, I hold onto them and look for ways to use them that aren’t related to the event. The layout I’m sharing with you today I did just that…used an event photo in a unique way. 

I came across the Jack Sparrow quote from Pirates of the Caribbean, which is a favorite movie in our family, and knew I had to use it on a layout. I had my very own dashing Jack Sparrow to go along with the quote too…a leftover photo from a Halloween layout! I became quite excited about getting started on this layout. It was the perfect opportunity to create and play with new product just for fun because I already told the story!

The subject of my layout worked really well with the new Fancy Pants Down By The Shore collection in the shop. I cut out the quote using my Cameo and placed it on the left side of the layout. On the right I randomly placed one inch strips from the 6x6 Down By The Shore paper pad.
