Come On Get Crafty

                                                

My page today started out as a big OOPS! and then I tried to find a way to fix it. My initial plan was to use the Fancy Pants Terrific polka dot paper as my background paper and then layer the Swell text paper on top of that. Well for some reason I cut the polka dot paper to 8x11, not 8.5x11. So then I was stuck! I still really liked the look of those 2 papers together, so I wanted to find a way to make it work. I used the corrugated paper to piece it all together. The final dimensions of my layout are 8.5x11, just with a little bit of cutting and pasting :) I actually like the dimension that the different size papers bring to the layout. I like the unevenness of it all. 

 I used the Fancy Pants What a Wonderful Day fundamental stickers for the banner. I always take them off the stickers sheet, then stick them to my shirt or pants to  get some of the sticky off. I just find stickers much easier to work with that way. There is still plenty of sticky left, just gives you the option of moving things around a bit till you get them where you want them. I know we all have oops moments now and then and in the words of the fabulous Mr. Tim Gunn, we must Make it Work!!!

Friday Faves | Fun & Fancy Pants Free & Freckled Fawn Wood Veneers

 

Hi All! Back with a few shop favorites of mine that I have been creating with this week; The Fancy Pants "What A Wonderful Day" Collection. I love the whimsical and yet graphic feel to this line and the bright pops of yellow and red complemented by some soft pastels. And the dimensional cork shaped stickers?! So fun to create with to add some pop to the design.

Hello everyone!  I hope you're having a great week :)  I'm here today with a quick and easy way to dress up the adorable What A Wonderful Day Patterned Envelopes from Fancy Pants using the coordinating Ephemera Pack.  

I always find myself needing small envelopes for gift cards, little notes of affection, and for gift-giving and these are perfect for any occasion...

I don't always have a lot of time to spend decorating items for gifts, so the Ephemera Pack was very helpful in dressing up the envelopes.  

I kept my embellishing simple so the envelopes wouldn't be too bulky or hard to package.  

I used my Tiny Attacher stapler to punch some of the Ephemera Pack pieces before I adhered them to the envelopes so I wouldn't affect the ability to slip something inside of them.

I clipped them to my display frame in my craft room so they would be in clear view and easy to grab in a hurry...they also look great as decor :)

This week I used some of the cards from the  Project Life TM core editions and I love the way it turned out. It was so easy to mix and match the cards, they all go together so well! This was the quickest week I have ever put together. In the shop we have Bits Kits available. It is an awesome way to get a sampling of all the kits!!

                    

I also added some of the new cork embellishments from Fancy Pants.  My oldest daughter was away at camp all week, so I had her write down her thoughts about the week on a 4x6 card. Typical of an almost 10 year old, she rolled her eyes and kept it short and sweet :)

Suz said, "I really loved playing with this sketch and knew right away what photos I wanted to scrap with and what COGC shop products I wanted to use as well.  I initially started out with the idea of rotating the sketch 90 degrees and pretty much stuck to that design arrangement.  I decided to use the Freckled Fawn wooden "remember" frame to highlight one of the photos and thought it would be fun to use the chipboard heart and make it into a strawberry by adding a small amount of the "B" side of the Lily Bee Lollipop paper as the stem."

I was really inspired by the colors and the playfulness of the Sweet Shoppe Collection by Lily Bee Designs and I thought they would be perfect for a layout using some photos from my son's last day of kindergarten.  I also really liked the Chipboard banner pieces (also from the Sweet Shoppe Collection) and used them throughout my page.

Coming Soon

Hi everyone! I loved the pink and gold color combo that was shared on the Monday Mood Board a couple weeks ago and was inspired to use that for my project today.

My card came together quickly using coordinated papers, tags and flair from the Fancy Pants Trendsetter collection.

To bring gold into the color scheme I altered the "hello" from the Jillibean Soup Wise Words sticker sheet. White stickers can easily be altered by coloring them with a marker or ink pad in the color of your choice.

I used my gold Brilliance mini dauber to color the white sticker. The small size of the ink pad made it easy to do by simply rubbing the tip of the ink pad over the sticker.

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I'm sharing my February Project Life pages. While printing my photos for February I realized I didn't have enough square photos to fill two 12x12 pages  so I used one page for square photos, one 8 1/2 x 11 divided page protector with 3 spaces for larger photos and one 5.5 x 8.5 page protector for journaling.

In my album, I placed the 12x12 divided protector on the left, the 8.5 x 11 on the right and the smaller protector with my journaling in between those two pages.

 

The Jillibean Soup Label and Shape stickers are my go-to item for adding captions and shapes to my photos.

For the journaling card, I used one sheet of paper and punched numbers from one of the Jillibean sticker sheets to bullet the highlights of the month.

I hope this has shown you how flexible PL can be. You don't have to fill the same number of pages each month. Work with what you have and keep it stress free.
