Hello everyone and happy Saturday!  It's time for another sketch challenge here at the Come On Get Crafty blog...

Let's take a look at what our amazing creative team came up with!

Ginny rocked the sketch by using different patterned paper strips as her background...

And here's what Diane came up with...

Isn't that photo amazing?!?!  I just love how she used gold accents to bring out the beautiful sunflares in her photo. 

Suz said, "I stayed pretty true to the sketch and decided to use the sentiment stickers not only for my title work, but also to represent the rectangles in the sketch (along with my photo of course).  I kept this layout pretty minimalistic.  Sometimes I like my layouts to be more about the photo + words and less on the embellishments.  (And then sometimes I like to play away with the embellishments!  I guess it just depends  on how I feel on that particular day!) ;) 

"My journaling is hidden beneath the photo as shown below.  It documents how I love the age my DS is at right now; curious, wanting to learn, and still liking to hang out with the 'rents.  I pop-dotted the camera sticker to add a bit of dimension and a little machine stitching down the borders. "

Nicole says, "I loved how this sketch has borders and the potential for lots of layers.  I decided to stamp the borders on the side using the Jillibean Soup stamps and then draw some attention to it with the Lily Bee twine from the embellishment bundle.  I've been grabbing old photos that are already printed trying to create scrapbooks for our older sons who will be graduating from high school soon.  This is one of my favorite photos of my husband with our two oldest kids when they were just starting to love books.  I love how my son is looking at his daddy as he reads...priceless!"

I just love all the circular elements she used and those layers are just fabulous!

I went all out with rainbow colors to emphasize my photo of the double rainbow that I had captured one summer afternoon after a rain.

Friday Faves | Fun & Fancy Pants Free & Freckled Fawn Wood Veneers

 

Hi All! Back with a few shop favorites of mine that I have been creating with this week; The Fancy Pants "What A Wonderful Day" Collection. I love the whimsical and yet graphic feel to this line and the bright pops of yellow and red complemented by some soft pastels. And the dimensional cork shaped stickers?! So fun to create with to add some pop to the design.

Diane said, "I have found several quotes and sayings on Pinterest lately that have been inspiring my titles. The saying on this layout, paired with the sketch made it easy to put this layout together."

Ginny said, "I tend to do 8.5x11 and I think this sketch really lends itself to the smaller scale. I love when a sketch is so versatile! I was inspired by the circles and I just wanted a fun and colorful page to match the fun photo of my daughter."

Nicole said, "I like how sketches give me a little boost to get started when I feel like I'm in a rut. What I love most about Adrienne's sketch is the focus on the photos and the story to go with it. It gives lots of room for variation in embellishing the photos, as well. Perfection! :)  I used some birthday party photos for mine."

And I love using sketches!  I thought this one was a great design to use for the photos of my daughter walking next to a wheat field by our home.  I used lots of Maggie Holmes products and kept the color palette soft with a few bright pops of pink and blue.
