Hello everyone! I'm here today to share my "Everyday life. Documented." spread for Week 26. Can you believe this year is already half-way over?!?!
My kids and I spent most of our free time this week swimming and hanging out with some of our favorite friends :) The weather was hot and humid, which is typical for this time of year, so the pool felt extra refreshing this week!

Happy Thursday, everyone! I'm here today with a quick and easy way to whip up a little mini book perfect for documenting all of you summertime memories...
First, I took a few pages from the Lakeside Journal Quote Book and scored them down the middle of the fold where you would otherwise have cut them apart...
I scored the page that I chose to be the front and back twice to make a sort of "spine" so the other pages would fit inside more precisely...
Next, I layered my pages on top of each other in the order that I wanted them to be and used my sewing machine to sew down the center of the spine that I created in the step above.
And ta da!!!!! Insant mini book...
I kept the embellishing pretty simple because of the small size of the book and I wanted my photos to take center stage...
I sized all of my photos at 2.25 x 2.25 for this album...
I also used a small corner rounder to round off the corners of each of my pages...
I plan on filling in all the books I read over the summer on this page...
Shop Items Used: Pebbles (Lakeside Journal Quote Book, Lakeside Phrase Stickers), Basic Grey (Candy Buttons), Lily Bee (Sweet Shoppe Chit Chat Stickers, Sweet Shoppe Letter Stickers)
Our summer is just beginning so I might have to make a few more of these adorable mini's :) Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!
Hi there! Today day I am back to share with you a few of my favorite Come On Get Crafty Shop items. With new items being stocked in the store quite frequently now, it was difficult to pick just a few! But here goes!
**Note: Shop Items are linked by simply clicking on each item highlighted in orange below.
First up are the Lily Bee Sweet Shoppe Letter Stickers.
I love that this alpha set has several colors and sizes of alphabets and I have been picking these stickers up often to use on my Project Life spreads, on my layouts, and on my cards to add sentiments as shown below:
*Note: To make the sun, I used some gelatos to color & paint in yellow and orange hues and then stitched the sunbeams over the top.
I also used some adorable die cuts from the Crate Paper Pier Ephemera pack on this card.
Being that we are "Lake Lovers" here in the Ozarks, I couldn't wait to get my hands on some of the Pebbles Lakeside Collection too. I have lots of plans for this collection making it into the pages of my Project Life and elsewhere. :) Here I have used a few of the journal cards from the Lakeside Journal and Quote Book.
I simply added a bit of embellishments, machine stitching, and then journaled away. Easy peasy. Each card took only a few minutes (and by this I mean less than 5 minutes including the stitching) to create.
Another favorite of mine continues to be epoxy brads. The above "Hello Lovely" brad is from the shop item: Studio Calico Atlantic Epoxy Brads.
And lastly, a favorite patterned paper of mine; Lakeside Chalkboard. I know Ginny has highlighted this particular paper in the past as one of her faves too, but I wanted to share with you what I have done with the paper to customize it a bit.
When I first saw this paper, I knew I wanted to use it as the intro page to an album I am creating on "Our Summers." I broke open my new Copic markers and colored in some of the words to have them pop out as the title and then colored in all of the stars too.
Quick and easy to do and I think it has a pretty fun effect. Opposite this page I have started a collage of pics from various summers past, and plan to make a fun page of those pics mixed with embellies from the Lakeside and Atlantic collection. I will be sure to post that layout in the inspiration gallery as soon as it is completed. ;)
So, what are your plans for this "First Day of Summer" weekend? Does it involve lake time? Or scrapping? Or both? Whatever it is, enjoy!! :)
Hi everyone! Today I want to show you a great way to add some fun and whimsy to a layout…pinwheels. They are a hot trend in paper crafting! You can buy all sorts of styles and sizes that are pre-made, but today I'm want to show you how you can make your own. They are surprisingly easy to make and making them allows you to use colors and sizes of your choice.
To make a pinwheel, cut a piece of patterned paper into a square. The larger the square the larger the finished pinwheel will be. The pinwheels I used on my finished layout were made using an 1 1/2 inch and 2 inch square.
Fold the square in half on the diagonal. Open it up and fold it in half on the other diagonal.
Open your square, then using your scissors, cut from each corner, following the folded line up to a little over 1/4 inch from the middle. Repeat this on all corners.
Once all the cuts are made, place an adhesive dot in the center of the square. Next, fold up every other cut section and adhere it to the adhesive dot.
To complete the pinwheel, embellish the center with a button, brad or other item of your choice.
Here is how I used the pinwheels I made on my layout.
If you try these pinwheels, share your project in our Flickr gallery, I would love to see how you use them.
Shop items used: American Crafts Mayberry Collection: 6x6 paper pad, Strawberry Lemonade patterned paper, Lily Bee Sweet Shoppe: Licorice Whip patterned paper, Embellishment Bundle, Basic Grey: Mint Julep Collection: Bottle Cap Stickers, Woven Labels, Candy Buttons, Crate Paper: Maggie Holmes mini alpha sticker sheet.
Happy Wednesday, everyone! I'm here today showcasing a couple of my favorite Come On Get Crafty shop items...American Crafts My Girl Hopscotch Bits and Freckled Fawn Wood Chips!
I love anything wood veneer and I just love the way these two items compliment each other on my layout.
I used the Freckled Fawn Heart Wood Chips and Cloud Wood Chips...they were perfect for my "summery" layout of me and my daughter enjoying a beautiful day playing in the yard.
I used the American Crafts Wood Veneer Tags in a grid design along with a couple of my favorite photos from that day. I layered sun rays that I cut from my Silhouette behind a few of them to help bring the grid design together.
Shop Items Used: American Crafts (My Girl Hopscotch Bits, Mayberry Cupcake Shaped Wooden Buttons), Freckled Fawn (Cloud Wood Chips, Heart Wood Chips), Lily Bee (Sweet Shoppe Chit Chat Stickers, Circles & Tags Stickers)
I hope you're having a great week and be sure and head on over to the shop and check out the new items that are in store!
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Friday, everyone! I'm so excited to be featuring Katie Rose here on the blog today!
My name is Katie Rose. I live in a small town on the coast of New Hampshire with my husband and our 3 kids...2 boys and a little girl, who keep me on my toes. I've been scrapbooking for about 12 years. I think my style changes a little every year, but I always try to keep the focus on my photos. I am currently really into the anchor trend and I also love arrows. I use them on almost every page! Lately, I am really inspired by quilt designs on my layouts. I find tons of them on Pinterest. When I'm not scrapbooking I actually run a business. I co-own a childcare center for 120 kids with my sister. We are in our 12th year of business and I am now able to do my work from home, which leaves me some extra time for scrapbooking! I am super excited to be featured here on Come On Get Crafty...thanks so much!
And here's what Katie created...
I just ADORE what Katie created using products from the Come On Get Crafty online shop! Be sure to check out Katie's blog to learn more about her and see more of her inspiring creations!
Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful weekend!
I love the new American Crafts Mayberry collection in the shop, especially the Raspberry Bits tags which are backed with burlap and full of dimension and texture. So adorable!
On this layout, I used two tags along with a standard 4x6 photo to create a simple grid design.
I used the empty space in the tags for embellishments and journaling.
Shop items used: American Crafts Mayberry Collection: 6x6 Paper Pad, Raspberry Bits Tags, Cupcake Wood Shaped Buttons, Lily Bee Sweet Shoppe Collection: Embellishment Bundle, Letter Stickers, Pebbles Lakeside Collection: Postcards paper
You can find all of these supplies and lots of other new goodies in the Come On Get Crafty shop!
Hello everyone! I'm here today to share my "Everyday life. Documented." spread for Week 23 with you...
I've been staying up-to-date with my pocket page spreads by setting a few "ground rules" for myself and my process. One "rule" is that I set aside time every week to work on my spread, usually on Sundays.
Another "rule" is that I collect and gather all of the items I plan on using before I print out my photos. This helps me determine what my color scheme or "theme" is going to be and that way I don't get halfway through my spread and end up searching for certain items or embellishments in specific colors or accents that I don't have on hand. This is a HUGE timesaver for me!
The only other "rule" I have is to have fun and not stress over my spread! Some weeks I only have an hour or so to create, while others, I have an entire afternoon. I try to keep it simple and to the point. If I'm lacking photos or don't feel like journaling a lot one week, then I don't :)
Shop Items Used: American Crafts (Mayberry Lemon Pockets & Cards, Mayberry Orange Soda Chalkboard Stickers, Mayberry Strawberry Lemonade Patterned Paper), Basic Grey (Candy Buttons, Mint Julep Woven Labels), Lily Bee Sweet Shoppe (Chit Chat Stickers, Label Stickers, Tiny Tablet), Pebbles (Lakeside Chalkboard ABC Stickers, Phrase Stickers, Paper Pad), Studio Calico (Atlantic Cork Arrow Stickers), Webster's Pages (Sweet Note Alpha and Tag Stickers)
I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
Happy Saturday, everyone! It's time for another sketch challenge here at the Come On Get Crafty blog!
Check out how our fabulous creative team used the sketch...
Suz said, "I really loved playing with this sketch and knew right away what photos I wanted to scrap with and what COGC shop products I wanted to use as well. I initially started out with the idea of rotating the sketch 90 degrees and pretty much stuck to that design arrangement. I decided to use the Freckled Fawn wooden "remember" frame to highlight one of the photos and thought it would be fun to use the chipboard heart and make it into a strawberry by adding a small amount of the "B" side of the Lily Bee Lollipop paper as the stem."
Shop Items Used: Freckled Fawn (Wood Veneer "Remember" Frame), Lily Bee (Sweet Shoppe Chipboard Stickers, Letter Stickers, Tiny Tablet, Label Stickers, Lollipop patterned paper), Crate Paper (Pier Paper Pad)
And here is Nicole's beautiful layout using the sketch...
Shop Items Used: Studio Calico (Snippets Chipboard Stars), Lily Bee (Sweet Shoppe Lemon Drop patterned paper, Pink Mint patterned paper, Alpha Stickers), Fancy Pants (Down By The Shore Paper Pad & Tape Stickers), Freckeled Fawn (Wood Veneer "Remember" Frames)
And here's what I came up with...
I was really inspired by the colors and the playfulness of the Sweet Shoppe Collection by Lily Bee Designs and I thought they would be perfect for a layout using some photos from my son's last day of kindergarten. I also really liked the Chipboard banner pieces (also from the Sweet Shoppe Collection) and used them throughout my page.
Shop Items Used: Lily Bee (Pinwheel Picnic Basket Patterned Paper, Sweet Shoppe Licorice Patterned Paper, Sweet Shoppe Lollipop Patterned Paper, Sweet Shoppe Letter Stickers, Label Stickers, Embellishment Bundle, Chit-Chat Stickers, Chipboard Stickers), Studio Calico (Atlantic Cork Arrow Stickers, Atlantic Sequins), American Crafts (Mayberry Strawberry Lemonade Paper)
Now it's your turn to show us your take on the sketch! Link up your creations using this sketch here by June 22, 2013 for a chance to win a $5 Gift Card to the Come On Get Crafty shop! And don't forget to post your creations to our Flickr Gallery and be sure to "Like" us on Facebook!
